Magnus Schlette studied social studies and philosophy at Free University Berlin, Kiel and Frankfurt a.M. From 2005 to 2011 he was an associate member and scholar of the Max Weber Center for Advanced Cultural Studies based at the University of Erfurt. During this time he also earned his venia legendi for philosophy. Currently, he is the head of the study group “Theology and Philosophy of Nature” at F.E.S.T. Heidelberg (“Forschungsstätte der Evangelischen Studiengemeinschaft e.V.). Before his fellowship with us, he held a guest professorship for philosophical anthropology within the department of philosophy at Humboldt University Berlin.
Magnus Schlette fields of interests include the philosophy of religion, social philosophy and anthropology and herewith particularly the theory of individualisation. During his fellowship with us, he will be working on a project entitled "Religiösität und religiöse Indifferenz als 'zweite Natur'. Überlegungen zur Naturalisierung des Säkularisierungskonzepts“.
